SpearsIn the spring, I forage for wild asparagus. It's the same plant as the one that's planted by farmers. Birds eat the seeds, but they can only digest the pulp. If the seed lands in a favorable spot, a new asparagus plant sprouts. I pick many pounds of this tasty treat, around the same time of year I forage for wild leeks, fiddleheads and morels.
