Garlic Scapes
In spring, sinuously curving flower stalks arise from garlic
plants. Farmers cut them, so that the plant will devote its
energy to producing bulbs rather than seeds. These tasty
stalks, called “scapes” are available in local farmers' markets,
where I purchased them for both culinary and artistic purposes.
Over two years, I attempted many scans, none of which
seemed to capture their essence for me.
Until this one...reminiscent of Celtic knots.
