Bladdernuts

Bladdernut is a small tree that grows along streams and riverbanks. American Bladdernut is native to Massachusetts. In this images, there are two varieties - American and European, as well as some pods from a golden Rain/Chinese Lantern tree, collected in September 2009, at Harvard's Arnold Arboretum in Boston, for my special project there. The pods rattle.
